A new timba blog called timbaporsiempre, half in Spanish, half Italian. Looks sharp with a denim design from Blogger.
This was where I first read the rumour that the reggaetonero Elvis Manuel was still alive.
Mi gente lo mas seguro es que Elvis esta en Bahamas...El problema parece ser que no solamente Millenium Records lo habia contratado como artista
But surely he would have appeared somewhere by now.......

I'd be pretty d*mned amazed if he hadn't even told his mother that he's still alive.

The Elvis in Bahamas story is a distraction from the fact that Eric Reyes and Lester Delgado of Millenium Records went to Cuba and told Elvis he'd be a millionaire if he immediately went to Miami. They promised a private speedboat and he got a leaky catamaran with 18 others. Millenium is responsible for what happened and they still want to profit from his music. The rights should go back to the mother.
Sadly, the Cuban fans in Miami are confused by the media that backs Millenium as one of their own. They come up with distracting stories to take the heat off themselves and the statements of Elvis' mother. She clearly states they are at fault. The mother and his best friend saw him disappear in the water.
People need to stop idle speculation.

Has anyone written about these guys from Milleneum Records and what the story really is? Are they well known in Miami? Have they put out other music? I would be fascinated by the real story of what happened here as a by-product of the politics of the U.S. vis a vis Cuba.
